🎉 Playground Opening

We’re please to share the playground will open on Saturday May 24th at 10.30am.

PS There is still some cleanup to do, reach out if you want to spend a few hours finishing up!

PPS Some of the pickets were cut wrong so if you paid for one and don’t see one email us at compoplayground@gmail.com it is likely being reordered. We are also trying to open up a second order of pickets to add at the end of the season.

To the town of Westport - thank you for the incredible support on the Compo Beach Playground renovation. We had hundreds of folks turn out over the 6 day community build and each and every one of you made a difference.

Many of you were there day in and day out, we cannot thank you enough for your never ending smiles! To the crew chiefs, the committee members and those that spent countless hours at Compo last week - thank you!

The renovation was kicked off through the Centennial Gift of the Westport Rotary Club to the Town and is a true legacy project of the Westport Young Woman’s League (WYWL). Thank you to the many members of both organizations who lent their support.

Compo Playground almost wasn't built, but in 1988, a group of local families came together to create one of Westport’s main attractions. Since then, local community members, organizations such as the Westport Rotary Club, the Westport Young Woman's League, and Parks & Recreation have maintained and improved this beloved playground. It stands as a testament to the public and private partnerships that help our town thrive.

Nearly 20 years have passed since the previous rebuild. Once again, a community-wide group of volunteers is coming together to enhance the playground.
